Setup Gmail on Symbian Device


This is the Tutorial to Setup Gmail on your Symbian Device.Symbian is an operating system (OS) and software platform designed for smartphones and currently maintained by Nokia. Just follow the Step-by-Step Procedure & Customize Settings as we say, You just have to do following, To setup your Mailbox, Follow the Steps:

  • Just go to ,Messages > Options > Settings > Email. 
  • Click Options and create a New Mailbox.
  • Select the type IMAP4 / POP3 and proceed.
  • Enter your email address and click Next.
  • Next enter your Incoming Mail server and Outgoing Mail server.
  • Select a default access point to use and then give your mailbox a name.
  • When you are done with the above settings, just select the mailbox you just created and go to Options > Edit > Connection Settings.
Now you have yo customize the Gmail POP3 setting. This Settings include Incoming & Outgoing mails.Customize The Gmail POP3 Setting for Incoming Mails as Follows:
  • User Name: Username *//Enter your Username here.
  • Password: Password *//Enter your Password here.
  • Incoming Mail server: pop.gmail.com
  • Mailbox Type: POP3
  • Security: SSL / TLS
  • Port: 995  
Customize The Gmail POP3 Setting for Outgoing Mails as Follows:
  • Email Address: emailid@gmail.com *//Enter your Email id here.
  • User Name: Username *//Enter your Username here.
  • Password: Password *//Enter your Password here.
  • Outgoing Mail server: smtp.gmail.com
  • Security: Start TLS
  • Port: 465
Now you have yo customize the Gmail IMAP4 setting. This Settings include Incoming & Outgoing mails.Customize The Gmail IMAP4 Setting for Incoming Mails as Follows:
  • User Name: Username *//Enter your Username here.
  • Password:your Password *//Enter your Password here.
  • Incoming Mail server: imap.gmail.com
  • Mailbox Type: IMAP4
  • Security: SSL / TLS
  • Port: 993
Customize The Gmail IMAP4 Setting for Outgoing Mails as Follows:
  • Email Address: emailid@gmail.com *//Enter your Email id here.
  • User Name: Username *//Enter your Username here.
  • Password:your Password *//Enter your Password here.
  • Outgoing Mail server: smtp.gmail.com
  • Security: Start TLS
  • Port: 465
Remember first you have to enable POP/IMAP 4 on your account, Otherwise it won't work.
Now you are Ready to Enjoy Gmail on your Symbian Phone.
