Samsung Series 5 Boost - A Multimedia Laptop announced at Computex 2012

Samsung has shown of yet another range of laptops at Computex 2012 going on at Taiwan. The new series are known as Series 5 Boost. This is a complete multimedia solution which comes straight from the labs of Samsung. Samsung has really started taking some big steps in the Computing section.




First Impressions of Samsung Series 5 Boost


The Display size of the Series 5 Boost will be 15” inch and 17” inch. The resolution of the display is 1600 x 900 pixels. Samsung says that it’s a non-reflective screen which will produce cleaner pictures and visuals. The brightness levels won’t harm the eye of the user. Though the brightness level hasn’t been considered, the brightness level can be raised up to 300 nits. 

The Series 5 Boost will ship with either a core i5 or core i7 Ivy bridge processors. The choice is up to the user. The graphics are powered by the latest hybrid graphics processing units of the US-based Nvidia. The GPU will raise the performance of the laptop by 112%. The laptop will also come with Intel’s integrated graphics. The user will be able to switch between the integrated and high-performance graphics. This will result in the power consumption. Hard drive of one terabyte will come with this one. So you have a lot amount of space for storing your data.

As we said it’s a complete multimedia solution. Series 5 Boost comes with 2 JBL surround stereo speakers with a subwoofer. This will enhance the audio output while hearing music and watching movies. Samsung’s “Alive” audio software will provide 3D surround sound which will take the sound levels to a different level.

We do not have any information regarding the price of the Samsung Series 5 Boost. We are expecting this one to be around $1100. If this one is priced competitively in the market, it will definitely gain the attraction of young audience out there.
