MyTopo acquired by Trimble





Trimble which is known for its outdoor apps acquired privately-held MyTopo based in Billings, Montana. MyTopo provides print and digital maps for outdoor enthusiasts, and Trimble’s plan is to offer MyTopo’s unique map content to launch new outdoor-centric products. Simultaneously, the plan is to enhance existing mobile apps like Trimble Outdoors, AllSport GPS, Geocache Navigator, Cabela’s Recon Hunt and Backpacker GPS Trails. They didn’t disclose the financial terms of the deal.



The new maps are already available for Trimble Outdoor user which is great news, which can get them from the dedicated website. The digital maps are available on more than 300 smartphones and feature phones that can run Trimble Outdoors mobile apps.

General manager for Trimble Outdoors, Rich Rudow, according to him, the acquisition of MyTopo brings “top-notch maps with unparalleled quality and rich features” to both Trimble Outdoors’ users and partners such as Cabela’s and Backpacker magazine. “We are excited to offer these unique services,” he added.
