NOW, visually impaired people can also use mobile phones. Yes this is done by Intex, with collaboration of the National Association for the Blind (NAB) it has introduced a phone for the visually impaired, the Intex Vision - IN 2020. . Developed at Intex’s Centre for Design & Development, the Intex Vision is a dual SIM phone (GSM+GSM) with a large Braille keypad to facilitate recognition of digits. It will be available for Rs. 2,600.
Even those visually impaired folks who do not recognize Braille can even use this new intex vision, as it comes with a talking keypad feature, which will speak out number in English. There is also an SOS button onboard, which allows users to save up to four emergency numbers, the first of which will be called once pressed.
