Today RIM announced a brand new video Chat and Facebook application for its tablet Blackberry Playbook. This was announced today at Blackberry World 2011.
The video chat app of Blackberry Playbook will allow users to chat via voice or video just with single tap over a Wi-Fi connection.
App will also allow you to take a look at your friend’s list and recent call logs. Well, not just for checking… You can also call your friends and with recent contacts. You can also call the user by entering contact’s BBID e-mail address. So this makes it easy to use Chat app. Notifications will pop-up on your screen when there’s an incoming call. If you want to talk, just accept and start chatting but if you are not in a mood to talk then you can easily ignore a call with a “Do Not Disturb” Option
The video chat app features a picture-in-picture function and also allows you to switch between the front and rear cameras, so you can show your callers what's going on around you, if you wish.
RIM says that this video chat app will be released on 3rd May. You will also be able to find this app on the Blackberry App World.
The upcoming Facebook app for the playbook will allow you to do almost each and everything what you do on the facebook website when you are sitting in front of your PC. You will be able to view the news feed, interact via posting on you walls and commenting on others posts. Uploading photos will not be a problem as this app will also allow you to upload photos. You will also be able to talk to your Facebook buddies with Facebook chat present in the app. Facebook App will also hit the Blackberry App World in this month only but no specific date has been announced for this.
