Most of the people are confused while buying a new PSP, the often question which arises is when the PSP GO is taken into concideration. The PSP GO offers many new features, but actually which one is good is the problem. PSP GO costs a lot more than the normal PSP 2x or 3x series.
PSPGO
New feature which has been introduced in the GO is the Inbuilt 16GB Memory, physical games concept has been totally removed hence, no need of carrying UMD’s everywhere. All the games which are downloaded form the PSN Store are banked in the console.
Connectivity includes the Bluetooth, the all new conecpt in the portable consoles from SONY. Bluetooth offers multiplayer gaming between the two consoles also it can be used for portable enhancement for wireless audio and the most obvious use (data-transfer).
The physical carrying of games has been outdated, so the games for the PSP GO should be downloaded from the PSN Store (Online), purchasing it online needs a credit-card and also lots of money :P, the games are costly than the UMD’s and does not have resale value (although it can be shared with 5 systems) and the most biggest CON for Indians is that the PSN Store is not available in India. So the games should be downloaded form the US account which requires a US based credit-card and address. So its big headache for playing games.
PSP GO is very expensive than the 3x or 2x series, it costs a lot more than a Nintendo Wii, and plus you have to pay for every game. The older games costs about 5$ - 20$ (Rs. 599 – Rs. 999) while the new games costs 20$ to 40$ (Rs. 1000 – Rs. 2000)
The astonishing feature of Bluetooth came first to the GO, these positive points makes it a good Console.

PSP 3x or 2x
It is also called as the PSP Slim and Lite but not that compact as the PSP GO. The PSP Slim and Lite is big and hence it is difficult to fit in a pocket. The resolution is the same as the GO and the screen is big enough as the resolution. However the 3x series have screen issue, while playing fast motion video the screen jags.
You need physical games i.e UMD’s to play games, also Homebrew games can be played using MSPD. There is no internal memory like the GO, but expandable memory. The physical games or Homebrew’s are better choice than the PSN Store. UMD’s are much cheaper than and hence affordable. Also for the 3x and 2x versions lots of MOD’s and Hacks are out and are successful and hence Homebrew’s can be played without spending a penny. And also these games are available in India in SONY store or Planet M.
However, SONY claims that the PSP 3004 is upgraded version of the PSP 2004, but its not that way. The only things which are upgraded are the Microphone and is made lite weight. People generally go for the 3x and 2x series as they can be MODDED (for playing free games).
The PSP 3x or 2x gradually wins as it is able to play Homebrew’s, the PSP GO has failed a lot due to uncompability of the Homebrews, but there are some tuorials for playing Homebrew’s on the GO (not tried it yet).
It is very difficult to get games form PSN Store in India, as the PSN Store has not been launched yet for India hence its totally pathetic to get a credit-card with US address to buy the games. However the hardware of the PSP GO is good but it lacks in Gaming comfort due to buttons on the slide.
Hence PSP 3x or 2x is gradually good. While rmours say that the PSP GO is failed technology.
