We started testing XPERIA Play in our labs and so far we have noticed some drawbacks of this phone. Keep on reading to find out what XPERIA Play has missed out.
The materials which are used for the construction of this phone are not good at all. Phone’s shell is made of a poor quality plastic and this might lead to some sorts of problems in the future, after you buy this phone. Sony Ericsson hasn’t impressed us after keeping it in such a price range. In terms of build quality we were expecting a lot from XPERIA Play after listening to its official price. The metallic body of the phone isn’t made of actual metal either. So this is really disappointing from a phone with such high expectations. The design of the phone is on the good side but still its overall Build is not that good.
The other factor which keeps this phone step behind in the line of Smartphone’s is its RAM. It has got just 512 MB of RAM. When you use apps on this phone, this phone will provide you just 400 MB of RAM for that.
The battery life of the phone is not that great. We were doing regular sorts of things with the phone like checking our mails, logging into Facebook and twitter and playing a bit of music. The phone ended up its working after 24 hours. It has got a 1500mAh Li-ion battery and it surprised us. Battery will not let you down while playing games in the Playstation mode.
Well while playing games in the PlayStation mode we find that shoulder buttons are too sensitive. The chances of making mistakes in the game are more while you begin with this phone.
The Display is also a bit poor. When we took this out in the light it was difficult to play games.
The Video recording of the camera is also not good. The thing which you get after recording a video at 800 x 480 is not that pleasant. In low light camera will not give you pictures of good quality.
