We have started a new section, here we will be reviewing iPod Touches / iPhone 4 cases. So lets start with my favourite, “The CandyShell” from Speck.
After using this case for a really looong time, we have came with the review. After the overall use of this case, I found that its a perfect case for iPod Touch. The POD is very well protected with it, the case is really the hard one but offers shock protection. The inner side of the case has moderately-soft plastic (not silicon). This offers the Pod protection from shock and even from drop. However being an hard case, if the POD is dropped over the shoulder level the case will surely break. The soft plastic ridges up around the POD offers good screen protection.
The back side is made of Hard Plastic with a awesome glossy finish, it just makes your iPod Touch’s back look like an iPhone 3GS. It is not very suspectible to scratches but very rough use can get suspectible to scratches. The White Wax version of the candy shell is totally flawless, it comes with two colors (Red & Grey). However the black version of the case has a drawback. i.e on the black version the scratches are easily seen, which makes the iPod look ugly. Being an hard plastic on the back side, it is very easy to slide the POD in & out of the pocket, unlike the silicon case.
Once the POD is fit in the case, never remove it out again and agian. As the docking cable jack is pretty weak, constant removing and fitting causes the thin bar at the bottom i.e of the Docking cut-out breaks. The case doesn’t have cut out for the power on switch, volume switch and the silent switch, instead the case comes with the custom buttons over it. However the functioning of the buttons is not that proper, you have to press it with your nail sometimes for the button to function. Or give a sharp press. Just eliminating this drawback, the case is totally good. I (ADMIN) personally use it. Makes my iPod look really faboluos. Attracts many girls :P
