An awesome release from the Spice Mobiles, the extremely Value for money phone. Specially for Indians customers, costing about 10,000 bucks is a very good smart phone. The most astonishing feature is the Operating System. Yes, it comes with the Android 1.6 (Upgradable). We waited to touch it from July 2010, as soon as it was launched.
The looks are better, not the worst. The phone looks decent with some buttons at the bottom but without the back light for the buttons. The trackball performance is also very good . The most perfect feature came with it is the Android. So this phone becomes the lowest priced Android in the market, The phone comes with the Android 1.6 but now the update for the Android 2.1 is available, just download. ITS FREE!!
The hardware specification is also good, it comes with 600MHz processor and 256MB RAM. So it is one of the fastest phone. The phone too rocked in the Touch, being Capacitive Touch, the sensitivity is totally flawless. The phone comes with 5Mp!! (As that of the Motorola Milestone) Camera, the quality is totally brilliant, but there is some distortion when snapped closed pics. However the sound quality is decent for Loudspeakers and also for the headset. We suggest you to go for any third party headset for good sound quality mainly (Creative EP-630) costs about 600bucks.
The battery backup is also very good, according to the specifications the phone has 1230 mAh Li-Ion battery, which is gives very good backup. We tested the phone battery with many activities like calls, videos, WiFi, bluetooth, downloads, surfing etc. i.e My whole day went with the phone, the work which I do with my PC was done with it for a whole day [Thank’s to Android]) But still the battery backedup for whole one day. The average battery backup is about one and a half day.
The Android is well powered, the multi touch options of the Android functions very smooth i.e the pinch to zoom in the ebook reader, also the acclometer while for Fun Factor. The third party developed apps makes the phone totally user-friendly.
The screen size is 3.2” but it comes with the HVGA Display, AMOLED would be good but currently its the best for a lowbudget phone. The resolution really sucks 320x480 it would be better if it was more for a big screen like 3.2”.
However the overall rating of the phone is perfect we recommend it for lowbudget, As the phone gradually wins when compared with the SAMSUNG Galaxy 3 and SAMSUNG Galaxy 5. But some people are worried to invest in not much popular phone brand like Spice. We say, there is no risk in investing in the Spice as you are getting many ideal smartphone features in a very low price, and also the customer care and support is very good. So go for It!
