Inspiron R Series from Dell has really catched attention of many people. We were also in that list. We got Inspiron 15 R from Dell's online store. After placing the order it got delivered in 14 days (In a RURAL Area. In Cities it will take 10-12 days). We ordered the most favorite Configuration of 15R. We tested it and here's our review what we think about Dell's Inspiron R.
First Things first, Inspiron 15 R has got a HD WLED screen of 15.6 inches(1366 x 768). The keyboard is decent. The keys are soft. The touchpad of the laptop is also good. Fingers were rolling nicely over it. The Weight of 15R is 2.64g kilograms. It has got three USB 2.0 Ports. One Combo ESATA/USB 2.0 Port. HDMI Port, VGA Port, Network connector (10/100 LAN), and Audio Jacks (1-line out and 1-mic in).

You also get a 7 in one media Card Reader with this. It can read Cards of the following types:
  • Digital (SD) Memory Card
  • Hi-Capacity Secure Digital (SDHC)Multimedia Card plus (MMC+)
  • Multi Media Card (MMC)
  • Memory Stick (MS)

Storage is the most important thing which we are concerned about. But No Worries Here. You Get 500GB 5400RPM Hard Drive with this.
Performance of the laptop is also good. It has got an Intel® i5 480M Processor (2.66GHz/3MB cache). 4GB(2 x 2GB) DDR3 RAM of 1333 Mhz and HD 550v Graphics. We tested it by running FIFA 11 at High Graphics Settings. The Game lagged a bit but overall it was good. But if u love the gameplay more you can play games at Medium Graphics Settings. It will definitely run smoother.

The battery life of the laptop is also good. It comes up with 6-cell Li-on battery. We turned off the power saver mode and screensaver. The battery lasted long for 104 minutes. So that's OK. You can make more out of it if you turn on the power saver mode.

You get Microsoft Windows 7 Home Basic Pre-installed and you also get McAfee Security Center's Licensed Version for 15 months. 1 Year Complete Cover Accidental Damage Protection is good option to have.
