LG Cookie Style T310 Review

LG Cookie Style comes in the category of cheap touch screen phones. By looking at its design we can say that this phone is mad for the youths. It looks Stylish and has got strong focus towards Social networking. Take a look what this phone is having and what you can do with it.

Build Quality:
In the first look phone looked pretty much similar to Samsung’s Corby. The Dimensions of the phone are very similar to Samsung Corby i.e 4.05 x 2.24 x 0.47 inches. As the name suggests LG Cookie Style is very Stylish in looks, is having a slim profile and its very light in weight too. So that makes it super portable. Phone fits in hands nicely. You can carry it anywhere around and you won’t feel shame to take out your phone in front of your friends. Phone is available in various color options i.e. Black & Red, White & Orange, Black & Titan Silver AND Pink & White Let’s take a closer look at the construction of this phone.

From the front:
There’s a small loudspeaker at the top and below it there’s a TFT screen of 2.8 inches which is a decent size. Coming down a bit, LG logo is present just below the TFT screen and the three standard physical push buttons i.e. making/receiving calls, back button and ending/cancelling calls are just below the logo. These buttons are in a same line and space is not there between those buttons. So sometimes, by mistake, you may press the wrong button.

From the back:
There’s just a small 2 megapixel camera present at the top. LG logo is carved at the bottom.
From the Left:
A microUSB port is there on the top. You can transfer data files as well as you can charge this phone using this port. Just above the microUSB port a small hole is present so that you can attach a lanyard strap to the phone.

From the right:
A volume rocker is present at the right of the phone. You can control the volume output of the phone using this volume rocker.

From the top:
At left there’s a 3.5mm audio jack. So you can plug in your favorite headphones and enjoy the music anytime. At right there’s a POWER/Lock & Unlock button. This reduces the chances of switching your phone off by mistake.
What’s missed out: A camera button is not there in the phone. Well that doesn’t makes a huge difference but still it has became a trend in today’s phones.

Features and Performance:

As we said earlier, this phone is mainly made for the youths, so it’s preloaded with social networking apps. Apps are pretty good. Facebook app is decent. It isn’t that much customized but still it’s good. It has got the traditional LG user interface. The user interface of the phone looks really nice.

The phone has got a resistive touch of 2.8 inches. The size of the screen is good but the response we got wasn’t that good. This has been a problem with all cheap resistive touch phones.

The call clarity and the signal strength of the phone are good. It was catching signals even at the last corners of our room. We didn’t notice any kind of itchiness while talking on the phone.

The loudspeaker of the phone is not that good. The music output was not that decent on the loudspeaker. So we recommend that you should carry your headphones with you all the time.

Coming to the connectivity, it has got just three connectivity options. There are EDGE and GPRS for connecting to the internet and v2.1 Bluetooth for connecting with Bluetooth devices. Class 10 EDGE and Class 10 GPRS are present in the phone. 3G is not available.

Camera present in the phone can take pictures of resolutions up to 1600 x 1200. The picture quality was not that good. It can also record videos at QCIF resolution at 15 frames per second.

When it comes to storage, this phone can store 1000 entries in Phonebook. Internal storage of the phone is just 20 MB but you can increase it up to 4 GB via micro SD card

LG Cookie has got Standard Lithium ion battery of 900 mAh. The Stand-by time of the phone is 500 hours and you can talk up to 8 hours.

Other features of the phone: Phone has got Java MIDP v2.1 support. It has got an in-built music player which can play various music formats and a Video Player which can play MP4 videos. It has also got Stereo FM with RDS. GPS is not there in the phone. You can’t expect that in such a low budget phone.

If you are looking for nice looking touch phone then LG cookie Style definitely is one of the options you have.
