Nielson Q4 report- IOS Does Good but Android Better

The Nielson Group has calculated and published their report on smartphone sales in US in last quarter of 2011 and the numbers are not shocking.
The IPhone 4s Did help Apple a lot by covering a lot of ground in market race and do equals with Android. Both the Companies where almost Same in sales when the results was generated and Windows Phone was only company which market ratings increased but has still a huge way to become a famous like Android or IOS.
 




Android accounted for 51.7 % for all the smart phones sold in Q4 but its share in November drooped to 48.7% because of strong sales of IOS . The Apple HAd share of 44.5% which is double of what it had in October (21.5%). Overall IOS stood at 37%.


While,
        RIM managed only 6%
        Canidians at 7.7%
        Nokia earned 1.3% in the Holiday season which is improvement compared to their 1.4% overall market Share.
Another trend that Nielsen noticed is that more and more US citizens are switching to smartphones. While just 46% of all users have a smartphone, 60% of those that got a new phone in Q4 opted for one with a proper OS.
