Microsoft has officially announced the first detail of
Windows Phone 8 in San Francisco. A lot of improvements have been made in the upcoming version of Windows Phone. The Windows Phone 8 will take the Windows Phones to the next level which looks all set to give some tough time to Google Android.

Hardware
Windows phone 8 will support multicore processors i.e. dual
core or Quad core with Qualcomm being the exclusive chipset manufacture. The latest Windows Phone 8 devices will comes with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S4 plus 1.7 GHz
dual core processors with Adreno 225 or Adreno 305 GPU. WP8 will also support
external storage by microSD cards. On WP8 NFC Antenna enabled which can provide
NFC transfer (shearing) between two phones will also be simplified.
Upgradability for WP7
The current version of Windows Phone i.e. Windows Phone 7 won't get Windows Phone 8 update. But it can currently upgrade up to Windows Phone 7.5 and in the coming days Windows Phone 7.8 will come as an update for Windows Phone 7 Users.
Security
The Windows phone 8 OS will come with Bitlocker encryption
and remote management it will be provide you better protection against hacking
or malware.
Additional application
The next version of Windows Phone will come with the Internet
Explore 10 (IE 10). The IE 10 is faster and more secure when compared to its previous versions. It offers advance anti-phishing features
i.e. SmartScreen Filter to block dangerous website and malware. The Skype application
will enjoy a more complete integration in Windows Phone 8
Home Screen
You will be able to customize your Start Screen with choice of small,
medium and double wide size tiles. The empty space which was noticed on the right side of the start
screen in WP7 now in Windows Phone 8 can be used to place live tiles.
Display
Windows Phone 8 will support two new HD higher resolution display
- WGA 800x480 pixel resolution (Current)
- WXGA 1280x768 pixel resolution (new)
- 720p 1280x720 pixel resolution with more ppi density (new)
All the current apps will not need to be upgraded for a
device with larger screen. The platform of WP8 is automatically scale up any
apps for an optimized viewing experience.
