Just a couple of days ago we reported that Apple's iOS 5, available as a Beta for developers, has been jailbroken. Even though a tethered jailbreak, we couldn't help but wonder how long will it take for an untethered jailbreak to surface.
Unfortunately for jailbreak lovers, it appears that Apple might have patched iOS 5 against an untethered jailbreak. i0n1c has tweeted that Apple "killed the ndrv_setspec() integeroverflow and his friends in iOS 5.0b1". If this turns out to be the case, then there will be (at least until someone figures out another way, if possible) no untethered jailbreaks for iOS 5, leaving you with only the tethered solution.
